Paper Hearts Valentine's Day Chain Decoration

You probably made the traditional paper chain as a kid, and this Valentine’s Day craft isn’t so different from the original. Rather than being made with ordinary circles and linking them together though, this paper chain is made up of heart-shaped versions of the traditional paper chain links and strewn together with pretty pink ribbon for a look that’s perfect for Valentine’s Day.







This heart chain project is super simple and doesn’t require much skill to transform ordinary paper strips into a chic decoration, so get your kids involved and make this a fun craft idea to celebrate Valentine's Day.
You may not think about decorating for Valentine's Day like you do other holidays - like Christmas or Halloween when it seems the whole neighborhood either illuminates every square inch of their house or transforms it into a haunted abode - but when you see how cute and versatile this kids paper craft is, you may reconsider decking your house out in lots of love!
Supplies:

scrapbook paper measuring 12" x 12"
ruler
pencil
scissor
stapler
pink satin ribbon

 

Directions:
Step 1: Use your ruler and pencil to measure out 12 1-inch strips on each piece of 12” x 12” scrapbook paper sheets you’re working with. Cut out the strips until you have the desired number you need for your chain.


 Step 2: Gently fold each strip in half and form a heart shape by pulling the two ends towards the center of the heart. Staple the two ends together near the top so that you maintain the heart’s form. Depending on the age of any children helping you with this, you’ll want to assist them with the stapling in this step.


Step 3: Once you have made all of your hearts, tie the hearts together on their sides with pink satin ribbon. Add a piece of ribbon to each end of the chain, and suspend it across a doorway, a window, or a mirror.
For added support, if you’d like, staple the heart sides together before tying off with ribbon. Then, hide the staples with your pink ribbon bows



We hung our chain across a mirror in the entryway and loved the effect of the reflection.
