'Soul' man Don Cornelius dead at 75


Don Cornelius, the honey-voiced music man behind "Soul Train," has passed away, HLN confirms.
Police responded to a call about a shooting at a home in the 12000 block of Mulholland Drive at 4 a.m. Wednesday, Los Angeles Police Department Officer Tenesha Dodine said.
Police transported Cornelius to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead of a gunshot wound. There were reports that the death was a suicide, but there is an ongoing investigation into whether the gunshot was self-inflicted.
Cornelius was known for offering more exposure to black musicians through his revolutionary programming, and for his smooth signature catch phrases.
