Stop Worrying!
Believe it or not, your single years will be some of the most beautiful and wonderful times of your life! Being single is an important part of the journey of life, and an especially important part of the journey toward marriage. Like all of God’s gifts, this time is meant to be enjoyed and used wisely. However, it’s easy to forget how wonderful it can be to be single. Think about each one of these five reminders the next time you start worrying about being without a mate!
You Have More Time for Yourself
When you’re in a relationship, it can be hard to find time for yourself! You’re always off to a dinner with your partner’s friends or spending the weekend with their family. When you’re single, the evening or weekend is yours to do as you please!
You Have More Time for Your Friends
Friends are vital for living a happy, healthy life. That’s why it’s important to create meaningful friendships and enrich the existing ones in your life. The good news is when you’re single, there’s simply more time to enjoy these relationships. So go ahead and laugh it up all night with your pals, you deserve it!
The Decisions Are Yours Alone
Compromise and sacrifice are healthy for any relationship and while we fully support both, we also know it’s nice to be able to put these aside while you’re single. When you’re not attached to a partner, all of the compromises and sacrifices are completely your own to make as you like.
You Have Freedom to Travel
Making travel arrangements is hard enough when you’re single, but try lining up schedules for two people (or more if you have kids)! Being alone gives you the freedom to go where you want, when you want, how you want. Imagine yourself on a beach in Tahiti, or cruising in the Mediterranean. Is the scenery any less beautiful if you have a romantic partner there with you? Nope, still gorgeous!
New Experiences Are Just Waiting for You
Let’s face it, when you’re in a relationship spending the evening cozying up to your partner on the couch and watching reruns can be a very nice evening. But, it gets old. When you’re single, you’re more likely to break out from your routine and try new things like salsa dancing, a Thai-style cooking class or joining a local co-ed soccer league. Ok, so maybe you’ll wind up on the couch watching reruns when you’re single as well, but at least you’ll be watching the show of your choice!
Being single doesn’t have to be depressing, The more satisfied you are with your single status, the more attractive you are to the opposite sex. “The One” is out there waiting for you and you’ll be in a loving relationship soon enough, so enjoy this journey while you still can!
