Easy Does It

Sprinting may score you a slim physique, but it can pay to take it slow.  A recent study at the University of Missouri found that women who practiced tai chi twice a week for two and a half months reported less stress and more energy. Plus, tests showed improvements in visual and verbal memory. In addition to giving a mental boost, the flowing, meditative moves can promote flexibility, balance, and muscle strength. Try applying tai chi's focus on form and breathing to your favorite exercise and you might snag a double dose of benefits- a buff body and buff brain.
