Christmas Cookie Cheats

Spend less time mixing up dough and focus on the fun part: decorating!

Modern Red and Green Cookies

Cut sugar cookie dough into circles and arrange on parchment-lined cookie sheets about 2 inches apart; bake as label directs and cool completely. Tint store-bought white frosting with green food coloring; frost each cookie leaving 1/4-inch unfrosted border. Press red candy beads and small silver dragee into the edge of the frosting in the pattern of your choosing.

Peppermint Bark Cookies

Dip 1 side of each cookie in melted dark or semisweet chocolate; sprinkle with crushed candy canes and transfer to wax paper to cool 15 minutes. Drizzle with melted white chocolate and let cool another 15 minites.

Polka Dot Wreath Cookies

Cut sugar cookie dough into circles and arrange on parchment-lined cookie sheets about 2 inches apart. Press about 15 red candy beads around the edge of each cookie. Bake as the label direct.

Wreath Sugar Cookies

Cut sugar cookie dough into circles; stamp out smaller circles from the cookie centers to make wreaths (reroll and cut out scraps). Arrange wreaths on parchment-lined cookie sheets about 2-inches apart; bake as label directs and cool completely. Frost cookies with white store-bought frosting tinted with green food coloring; add 2 triangles green-apple flavored chewing gum and 3 red M&Ms or Skittles for decoration.
