Sweat More, Binge Less

Sweat More, Binge Less

Shedding pounds often boils down to a simple equation: Eat fewer calories and burn more energy though exercise. As it turns out, doing one may help the other. In recent review, Harvard researchers proposed that exercise induces changes in the brain that could help you make better food choices. Your power over your drive to eat is controlled by an area of the brain that is under constant strain (think fast-food commercials or strolls by a bakery). Exercise, however, may give those parts of your brain a boost, making it easier to turn down office birthday cake, explains study author Miguel Alonso-Alonso, MD.
