Forget store-bought stationery and turn to your kitchen for a little edible inspiration. The Good Housekeeping Test Kitchen dreamed up these fun, DIY place cards using common kitchen ingredients (plus simple name tags on card stock).
Spiced Nuts

Serve our Sweet and Spicy Pecans in paper cones stamped with your guests' names pre-feast. We rolled and secured squares of printer paper with tape to make these cones. For easy eating, prop up cones in mason jars decorated with twine and/or ribbon.
Satsumas Oranges

Add a splash of bright orange to the table with Satsumas (sometimes
called Christmas Oranges)? This vibrant citrus fruit is often sold with
its leaves still attached. Punch a hole into a name tag and tie it to
the stem using baker's twine.
Cheese and Crackers

Look for "cheese buttons" or tiny goat cheese rounds (sometimes called
Crottin) at your grocery store or online — Make a 1/4-in. deep slit along the top, if necessary, then insert a name tag and serve with crackers. Can't find goat cheese buttons? Slice them from logs of goat cheese yourself! Just make sure the cheese is cold before cutting.
Sugared Cranberries

Guests can snack on these sweet-tart cranberries while they wait for the meal to begin! pile them into plastic pedestal cups like these from Party City and add a printed name tag.
Dinner Rolls

Turn the bread-course into an edible place setting! For each roll, cut a
small slit into one plain roll top and insert name tags as desired. I
love the look of flour-dusted Portuguese rolls but a Parker House or
other dinner roll would work just as well.
